. 577/.450 Martini Henry cavalry carbine circa 1880.
9 1/2 inch barrel, with no saw cut. Stamped with London proof marks at the breach, block and blade fire-sight with a flip up rear sight for 300 and 500 yards. The action plain and unmarked, two piece iron mounted full walnut stock, the forend with two barrel bands, although London proofed the style of this suggests manufacture at Steyr for the South African market.
A overall tidy gun, fully working with no saw cut on barrel, these is some staining and speckling throughout.
